A software that helps the translation process. Mainly used in technical translations with repetitive contents.
All our projects are done with CAT tools. This allows us to create translation memories (TM) for all language pairs. The TMs can then be reused on next projects with similar contents.
Though TMs are often viewed simply as a mean to reduce translation costs - sentences in the database are quoted at a lower price than new material - one of their main advantage is to allow teminology consistency between different parts of a project (for ex. UI, online help and documentation).
We can also create new translation memories based on documents already translated, for udpates or new versions.
If the source files are only available in PDF format, we can convert them into an editable format that can be used for translation.
